Data Availability Policy

Requirement

Authors must include a Data Availability Statement describing whether and how the data underlying the findings can be accessed, including any conditions or restrictions. Where ethically and legally possible, data supporting the results should be openly available.

Repositories

We encourage deposition in recognised repositories that issue persistent identifiers (for example Zenodo, figshare, Dryad, or discipline-specific repositories). Cite the dataset with its DOI in the reference list.

Code & models

For computational and AI studies, we strongly encourage sharing analysis code and, where feasible, trained models or sufficient details to reproduce them. Provide a code availability statement with a repository link (for example a tagged GitHub release archived in Zenodo).

Sensitive or restricted data

Where data cannot be shared openly (for example identifiable clinical data), state this clearly and explain the access process, such as application to a data access committee. Privacy and legal obligations always take precedence.
